Asif Aziz (Muslim 500 2021) is the Founder and CEO of Criterion Capital, one of London’s most influential asset management company with a portfolio under management of c. £3.6 Billion. As well as including all eight dstrkt properties, the portfolio also includes some of London’s most iconic buildings in the West End area including the London Trocadero, Pavilion and Criterion Building.
With more projects underway, Asif’s focus remains fixed on continuing to help enhance the city that he loves for both those that live here and those who come to visit. Getting fully enveloped in his projects is his style and has enabled him to build a portfolio of more than 21 buildings across the commercial, private residential and hospitality spaces.
Asif Aziz is also passionate about his charity, the Aziz Foundation. Through the foundation he focusses on improving primary school education, tackling homelessness, and providing international poverty relief. Asif has always had a heavy involvement in the creative and design process of each project, but does not work alone. Heading up the design team at Criterion Capital & Hospitality is his long-term partner, Darija Zivni Aziz. Her background in design and events as well as a deep genuine passion for interiors has made her an invaluable asset to the Criterion family. Not only is her connection to each project unquestionable, it can be seen every project she works on.
A strong collaboration, Asif and Darija love creating cutting edge stay and living spaces and are excited to welcome guests to come and experience them. Together, they challenge the norm, thinking well and truly outside the box approach. This has enabled them to create some of the capitals most unique hotel brand’s in the last decade. Zedwell is a prime example of this. This thought, concept and idea combined with a meticulous amount of research was bought to life in February 2020.
